How do you recycle a used and oily Crisp packet? The packet is made of PP film that has been mettalised to keep the crisps away from moisture that would create “non crisps” but this is now challenging to recycling. Yes technically it can be done but economically even TerraCycle would have to say that the collection costs are huge, even if paid by the consumer, and the final properties of oily metallised rPP would limit the final utility of the recycled PP. Walkers need to do better than to ask consumers to mail them to an unknown destiny as if this represents Producer Responsibility.
